In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of our Full-Time MBA program and as part of a series of worldwide commemorative events, IESE is delighted to invite you to:

IESE Alumni & Friends Special Event in Copenhagen on Thursday, June 4, 2015 with Mr. Søren Skou, CEO of Maersk Line and Prof. Franz Heukamp, Associate Dean for MBA Programs.

“Leadership and Business Change in the Global Economy”

Mr. Søren Skou took over as CEO of Maersk Line in January 2012, when the company was losing $8m-$9m a day. He and his new leadership team faced the challenges of restoring profitability and maintaining its industry leadership position.
Maersk Line is the world’s largest container shipping company, known for reliable, flexible and eco-efficient services. The Maersk Liner business also includes Safmarine, Seago Line, Sealand and MCC. The company operates in over 120 countries around the world and has a fleet of over 600 ships which sail every major trade lane on the globe. 27.3 Revenue for 2014 USD billion and 2.3 profit for 2014 USD billion with 32,000 FTE employee count.

 Meet Mr. Søren Skou & Prof. Franz Heukamp
Soren Skou New
Mr. Søren Skou has been CEO of the Maersk Liner Business, encompassing Maersk Line, Safmarine, MCC and Seago Line since 2012. He has been a member of the Executive Board of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group since 2007. Mr. Skou joined Maersk in 1983.

Over the next decade and a half, he held various positions in Maersk Line, with roles in Copenhagen, New York and Beijing. In 1998 he joined Maersk Tankers, where he was CEO from 2001 to 2011.

Mr. Skou is a graduate of business administration from Copenhagen Business School, as well as having an MBA (Honours) from IMD, Switzerland.
 
Franz HeukampProfessor Franz Heukamp, is the Associate Dean for MBA Programs at the IESE Business School.

Prof. Heukamp teaches Managerial Decision Sciences and has a Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His teaching specialties are decision analysis and forecasting methods. Prof. Heukamp teaches in the MBA, Executive-MBA and other executive education programs of IESE including the Advanced Management Program directed at senior business leaders.

Prof. Heukamp's main area of research is behavioral decision-making with a special interest in the area of Neuroeconomics. He is a member of The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences and the Neuroeconomics Society.

Maersk McKinney, el magnate danés de los contenedores

Maersk McKinney Moeller (Copenhague, 1913) fue el prototipo de hombre de negocios hecho así mismo. Transformó una modesta empresa familiar dedicada al transporte marítimo en una gigantesca multinacional. Los beneficios que fue acumulando a lo largo de este proceso sirvieron para patrocinar grandes obras de mecenazgo. Este empresario murió a los 98 años en la madrugada del 15 al 16 de abril en el Hospital Real de Copenhague, mientras dormía.

Maersk Spain, S.L.U. ostenta la representación de Maersk Line en España desde 1984, con oficinas en Valencia, Algeciras, Barcelona, Bilbao, Sevilla, Vigo y Madrid (sede también de la oficina central). Ademas de estos puertos sirven con regularidad otros puertos con sus buques feeder como Alicante, Cartagena, Las Palmas, Málaga, Tenerife y Tarragona.

Maersk España, S.A. opera una terminal en Algeciras con la ultima tecnologia que permite realizar mas de 100 escalas de buques mensualmente.
